Cornell's Scream Roars Into Stores Oct. 14An Oct. 14 release date has been set for Chris Cornell's next album, Scream. Hot hip-hop producer Timbaland assisted the ex- Soundgarden/ Audioslave singer during recording sessions for the disc, which is Cornell's third solo release. Click here to check out three tracks from Scream: "Long Gone," "Watch Out" and "Ground Zero." The Cure To Share Dream in OctoberThe Cure have finally titled their upcoming 13th album. The band's follow-up to its self-titled 2004 disc will be called 4:13 Dream, and is tentatively due to hit stores Oct. 13. The effort has been preceded by four singles that were each released on the 13th of the month, starting on May 13. The latest single, "The Perfect Boy," dropped earlier this month. [more]
Funeral Set for DMB Saxophonist MooreFuneral services for founding Dave Matthews Band saxophonist LeRoi Moore are scheduled to take place Wednesday in Charlottesville, Va. The 46-year-old musician passed away unexpectedly at a hospital in Los Angeles on Aug. 19 as the result of complications from injuries he suffered June 30 in an ATV accident near Charlottesville. DMB postponed their Tuesday show in West Sacramento, Calif., and their Wednesday concert in West Valley, Utah, presumably to attend the funeral. [more]
QOTSA's Homme To Man Monkeys' Mixing DeskQueens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has signed on to produce new tracks by the Arctic Monkeys. Homme reveals that he will team up with the Sheffield, England, rockers at a studio near Joshua Tree in the California desert. "That's the sort of pressure-free 'lets-do-something-cool' environment that really pays musical dividends at the end," explains Homme. "[The Monkeys are] a talented bunch of guys -- it's going to be a lot of fun." [more]
