Show event detailsChildren's Museum of Acadiana Paint Workshop
Saturday, July 18, 2009

Hey Kids!  Have you ever wanted to have the freedom to paint with brushes and other tools?  Have you thought it would be cool to paint on the floor of your room but you weren’t allowed to?  Well, this weekend, at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana you will have that kind of chance.

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana would like to invite you to participate in a wonderful workshop experience with artist John Palmer.  Palmer works out of Texas and loves to express himself with wild colors and bold brush strokes.  He also enjoys trying new things like using feathers and even his hands to paint with.  Palmer works mostly in paints but he has recently completed an exhibit with a well-known sculptor, David Adickes.  “The Heads and Tales of 10 Presidents” exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana features sculptures and paintings of ten of our nation’s presidents along with costumes, games, art projects, play-acting, and fun facts about the presidents who played pivotal roles in the history of the United States.  These presidents include President Abraham Lincoln, President John F. Kennedy, and our current president, President Barrack Obama.

If you are interested in joining John Palmer and the CMA for an exciting workshop, come by on Saturday, July 18.  John Palmer will be at the CMA from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  You will be given the once in a lifetime opportunity to paint with a professional artist during your visit to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana.  Regular admission fees apply.

For any further questions please call
The Children’s Museum of Acadiana at (337) 232-8500.
